What is Christian Counseling?

Christian counseling is a faith-based approach to mental and emotional healing that combines sound clinical practices with biblical truth. It’s more than just therapy—it’s a form of spiritual discipleship that supports individuals in growing emotionally, mentally, and spiritually as they mature in their walk with Christ.

At Graceful Healing Solutions, LLC, we incorporate spiritual tools such as prayer, scripture, and biblical principles—alongside evidence-based therapeutic techniques. These spiritual interventions are always offered at your comfort level and never forced.

We also honor professional standards and are committed to ethical excellence. Our counseling practices follow the codes of ethics established by both the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and the American Counseling Association (ACA).

You can read more about those ethical standards here:

Do I have to be a Christian to work with you?

Not at all. While our work is deeply rooted in Christian principles, we welcome anyone who’s open to a holistic, heart-centered healing process. We serve clients from all backgrounds with love, respect, and no judgment. If faith isn’t central to your life or healing journey, that’s okay—we’ll tailor your experience to meet your needs and values.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, we do! We offer both virtual and in-person sessions depending on your location and comfort level. Our virtual services are HIPAA-compliant and conducted through a secure video platform. Many of our clients love the flexibility that virtual sessions offer—whether you’re balancing a busy work schedule, caring for kids, or simply feel more comfortable meeting from home.

Virtual therapy and coaching are just as effective as in-person sessions, and we’re intentional about creating a warm, welcoming space no matter the format.

What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy and coaching both support your growth, but they serve different purposes:

  • Therapy (with a licensed professional) focuses on healing. It helps you work through emotional wounds, mental health struggles, or trauma from the past. It’s often covered by certain insurances and is meant to support clinical healing and wellness.

  • Coaching is more future-focused. It’s about helping you achieve personal or spiritual goals, improve self-esteem, set healthy boundaries, and gain clarity on your life purpose. Coaching is ideal if you’re emotionally stable but feeling stuck or unfulfilled.

Not sure which one you need? No worries—we’ll talk it through during your consultation and find the best path for you.

What can I expect in our first session?

The first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk through what brought you here, what’s been on your heart and mind, and what you hope to get out of our time together.

You can expect:

  • A non-judgmental space where you’re free to show up just as you are.

  • A conversation—not an interrogation.

  • Compassionate listening, and some questions to better understand your goals.

  • An overview of what working together will look like.

There’s no pressure to share everything at once—we’ll build safety and trust over time. You deserve to be seen, heard, and supported.
